Dr. Vanessa Vogan

Dr. Vanessa Vogan is a Psychologist providing assessment and treatment to children and youth with diverse clinical presentations and needs, including mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, suicidality, self-harm, problematic behaviours, emotion dysregulation, and emerging borderline personality disorders. She also provides parent coaching and consultation to help parents support their child’s emotional and behavioural well-being.

In addition, Dr. Vanessa Vogan has extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents with school-related problems (including learning, attention and intellectual difficulties) and co-occurring mental health needs. She also has experience conducting assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Dr. Vanessa Vogan’s practice is informed by evidence-based treatment approaches, with particular focus on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) frameworks. She strives to tailor services to individualized client need, and thus often integrates components of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and mindfulness in her work with children and families.

Dr. Vanessa Vogan received her doctoral degree in School and Clinical Child Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) within the University of Toronto. She completed her pre-doctoral residency at McMaster Children’s Hospital-Hamilton Health Sciences. She has worked in various hospital and community mental health settings within both inpatient and outpatient programs, including McMaster, The Hospital for Sick Children, Mackenzie Health, and Kinark Child and Family Services. Furthermore, Dr. Vanessa Vogan also provides psychological services within the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB).
